Our Sheriff, Jeff Leikauf, envisions a modern take on traditional law enforcement values, aiming for complete enforcement of crime and criminals, total care for victims, witnesses, and the community, and total professionalism through training and by example. Our mission is to uphold the law by investigating and enforcing criminal and civil law, providing leadership and support to allied law enforcement agencies, and ensuring consistent and humane treatment to those under our care and custody. We strive to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is responsive to the needs of our community and adheres to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California.
